When you are new to Internet business, you may find the overheads a little discouraging. You would like to cut down expenses wherever possible. For example, you may start with some cheaper scheme for web hosting. You can always upgrade when you become financially comfortable. Here are some tips.

When you go for web hosting, initially you may start with a single domain hosting account which will be cheaper. Though you are allowed to host only one domain, the host will allow you to set up unlimited number of sub domains and sub folders. So let sub-folders be the way to go. You are saving money not only on domain names but also on your hosting expenses.

For this purpose, you will have to choose a short generic domain name which you can use for different types of websites. For example, if your domain name is yourdomain.com, then you may create sub-folders for each website which may cater to different categories. yourdomain.com/adsense, yourdomain.com/computers, etc.

However, such short generic domain names are all already taken. So you have to come up with some creative solution for that. Find a name with 2 or 3 words. The shorter the better. Because when you add your sub-folder name, it would become much longer.

This way you can practically have any number of websites hosted while spending much less for hosting package.

Later, when you financially improve, you may upgrade to a regular package where you can add an unlimited number of websites and domain names.
