Over-Learning Can Hurt Your Affiliate Marketing Business

Just like an athlete can over train their body, beginner Internet marketers have a tendency to over train their brain and become overwhelmed due to learning too much information. This decreases both the effectiveness of the marketer and can cause the marketer to lose valuable time and money as well.
When you spend all your time learning about your new affiliate marketing business, then you do not spend any time actually working it. While it is good to learn, you have to get started somewhere. The longer it takes you to get started and actually moving in the right direction, the longer it will take you to start earning any income.
Some of the best marketers fall into this pattern simply because:
It’s easy to get distracted and lose focus
It’s hard to know when to stop learning
Taking direct action requires effort
There are a number of fears to overcome
Stop Learning about your affiliate marketing business and start doing it
No matter how much information you learn, at some point you have to stop the learning and apply the knowledge you have gained. Knowledge will show you how, but action will show you the money.
Pick a market that has competition. No competition no market.
Pick a product in that market.
Promote the product.
It is really that simple in the beginning. You can promote it anywhere you want to. Use free methods first, such as word of mouth, posting to some websites, or even a free classified ad. Once you start getting sales expand your marketing resources until such time as you have a steady stream of income.
Then, rinse and repeat the process until you are making good income.
To avoid this in the future, just remember everyone has to learn first, then apply the knowledge. Learning without application does you no good.
Everyone has a learning curve when they start a new skill and your new affiliate marketing business is no different. Be recognizing that you will never learn it all, and that information changes daily, you will recognize that you have to start somewhere and getting started will prevent over-learning.
