Drop Shipping - A Product Delivery Method

May 27th 2009 By Web Development India

Drop shipping is a supply chain management technique. The goods are not kept in stock by the retailer. However, the retailer transfers customer orders and shipment details to either the manufacturer or a wholesaler, who then ships the goods directly to the customer. Basically, in the drop shipping arrangement, the middleman between the manufacturer and the customer is the retailer. The profit of the middleman (retailer) in the transaction guided by drop shipping agreement is the difference between the wholesale and retail price of the products sold.

The arrangement of drop shipping is particularly beneficial to smaller retail shops, internet-only storefronts and shops using catalogs for sales. This is so because customers of these outlets don’t mind a slight delay between ordering and actual delivery of the product. The following is an example of how the arrangement works: A representative product may be displayed on the store’s shelves or pictured in its catalog. However, the actual product purchased may not be present in the store. It can be in the factory’s warehouse situated hundred miles away. An excellent example of the same is offered by the online auction sites like eBay.

As any other arrangement, drop shipping comes with benefits and costs. The benefits are no upfront inventory to purchase, a positive cash flow cycle, reduction in total inventory management and shipping costs. The costs of this supply chain management technique are the back ordering possibilities. Back ordering occurs when a seller places a shipment request with a wholesaler, but the product is sold out. The latest emerging trend in the drop ship business is private label drop shipping. The manufacturer produces a customized item for a retailer and drop ships it. The range of private label drop shipped items varies from key chains and t-shirts with custom logos to personalized pictures.

Selling Books Online Using Dropshipping

May 27th 2009 By Web Development India

If you are thinking of starting your own home-based online store, you will find a good profit potential in selling books online through the use of dropshipping. Dropshipping is the business of selling various items over the Internet for wholesale distributors who provide them. You will be responsible for marketing, advertising, and selling, and once a customer places an order, the wholesale distributor will then package the item and ship it to the customer.

There are a lot of savvy entrepreneurs who are making a killing selling books online through this method. Their profit is derived from the difference between the wholesale rate given by their dropshipping suppliers, and the retail price they sell each item to customers. Some successful people have made dropshipping bookstores their main source of income with huge success.

Through dropship wholesale distributors, online store owners can sell many different book and magazine titles, whether on their own websites, or through eBay and Amazon Stores. You won’t need to worry about taking regular inventory, or having to pre-purchase the books and magazines beforehand. Your wholesale dropshipping supplier will take care of all these things for you. In return, you are responsible for helping them move their merchandise in exchange for wholesale rates on your end.

Selling books online will require a dynamic website presence to capture the interest of potential customers. Good quality digital images is also a good idea to establish a good communication link with your customers to earn positive feedback, and repeat sales.

To become a successful dropship retailer, you will need to source out a legitimate and reliable dropshipping supplier with no records of complaints about their service. Make sure they are able to supply tracking numbers for the items, as well as a specified period of time allowed for shipping. This information will be useful for informing your customers when they should expect the item they ordered to arrive.

Your dropshipping supplier should be easy to get in touch with if there is a problem with any item or if a delay in shipping occurs. It will be a good idea not to rely on one supplier alone, but have several dropshippers you can count on for back-up. To ascertain the reliability of a supplier, make sure to test-purchase a few books before you commence to do business with them. A good dropshipping supplier will provide you with a good wholesale price, giving you enough margin to make a profit selling books online for their retail price.

If you have an auction store in eBay, make sure you are able to set up an arrangement where you can select a number of titles from your supplier to offer up for auction. As soon as a book is sold and you have collected the money from your customer, send the order to the dropshipping supplier who will charge you the wholesale rate for a single item, and immediately ship it to your customer in good condition. Not only will you make a good profit, you’ll get positive feedback from your customer, as well.

Selling Books - Dropshipping

May 27th 2009 By Web Development India

Of the many methods of earning money on the Internet, one of the most popular and widely-used is dropshipping. This method is very similar to another money-making option, affiliate marketing. You create a website where you will market and sell items that are distributed by a supplier.

Dropshipping involves a new technique of retail selling where the seller doesn’t need to have actual possession of the merchandize. As a retailer, you will maintain an online store to market items provided for by a supplier or wholesaler. Once you receive an order or close a sale, your relay the message to the supplier who will then ship the goods directly to the customer. Your profit margin will depend on the wholesale price the supplier or drop shipper charges you, and the retail price you charge your customers for the same item.

Books are one of the fastest-selling items on the Internet, and selling books via dropshipping is a good way to make a tidy profit on the Internet. You can request for a list of different books from your wholesale supplier or drop shipper based on your niche or target market. While these catalogues aren’t free, they are relatively inexpensive compared to having to buy actual books to display in your store. Selling books via digital images and descriptions only lowers capital costs and increases your profit margin.

Once you put up your online bookstore and start selling items, none of your customers will know that the books you sell are shipped by the wholesale drop shipper. All you need to do is pay a monthly fee to gain access to the available books, which you will then advertise as you see fit, either through banner ads, blog posts, or other methods, such as through eBay or Amazon Stores.

The amount charged as monthly fee will depend on your distributor, so it will be a great advantage for you to find suppliers who will charge fees based on wholesale rates. Most wholesalers can supply you with thousands of titles depending on your target market, and all you need to do is make your selection from these catalogues, saving you time and money in product development and merchandize acquisition.

As soon as a customer places an order, you collect the money through an online payment processor and send the order to your wholesale drop shipper who will then send the book directly to the customer that ordered it. As a drop shipping retailer, you will not have to worry about inventory, shipping, product returns, or even timely arrival of the item.

While dropshipping is an ideal business to make money online by selling books, there are risks you will be facing, as well. In some instances, you won’t be able to offer the latest best-selling books until a certain period of time has elapsed. This can cost you customers. Some wholesale distributors can also charge a very high monthly fee which may eat up into your profit margin.

This is why it is crucial to research on various wholesale distributors and chose the ones that are legitimate and reliable. Reviewing their book lists will also help you determine if they can supply you with the right books for your target market.

Book Business - How to Make Money Dropshipping Books

May 27th 2009 By Web Development India

Are you interested in starting your own home-based business? There are a great number of opportunities on the Internet that you can look into. If you are the kind of person who loves books and have always dreamed of opening a bookstore, you can actually start a book business online through dropshipping.
Dropshipping is an entrepreneurial phenomenon that has brought online money-making to a whole new dimension. Initially gaining popularity with eBay auctions, this kind of business lowers the risks considerably, increases the potential to make a good profit, and is more enjoyable and fulfilling, besides. Marketing and selling books online is made easy without your having to worry about renting office space or clearing a portion of your home to make room for merchandise. All you need to do is maintain a virtual book store, take down customer orders, and have your suppliers deliver these books to your customers.

Dropshipping is a relatively simple business. You needn’t spend countless hours doing regular inventory. Your suppliers will do it for you. You get charged a wholesale rate on the merchandize, usually 20% to 50% off, and you sell these items to your customers at the retail value. This way, you are able to make a profit on your book business. You market the books, and your supplier delivers orders to your customers. You don’t even have to spend on shipping fees.

You will need to do some research to source out the best suppliers who will charge you reasonable rates. There are sources on the Internet that provide dropshipping entrepreneurs with a directory of wholesalers or drop shippers. They will provide you with an inventory which you can resell at Amazon Stores, on eBay, or through your own online bookstore. Looking for legitimate drop shippers may take some time, and you may get discouraged at times. However, once you have a list of reliable wholesale suppliers, you’re all set for business. Strive for a win-win deal: you market their books and move their merchandise faster, in return they only charge you the wholesale price of an item as soon as you’ve made a sale.

These wholesale dropshipping suppliers will provide you with a list of books to choose from. Once you have made a selection for your book business, simply copy a code from their site to paste on your online store, and you’re ready to market and sell books. Your suppliers will do all the work of inventory and product sourcing, and once you make a sale, they will drop ship the item to your customer.

To be successful at making money through dropshipping books, remember to upload good photos of your merchandize on your store’s website. Provide your customers with apt and interesting descriptions as well as a short review of each product. Establishing a strong presence for your online drop shipping book store will help you bring in more potential customers, get positive feedback from all your buyers, and earn a respectable income from your online bookstore.

How to Make Money With Online Auctions

May 27th 2009 By Web Development India

Do you currently have a business selling products to others? If you do, you can make even more money by listing your products on some of the auctions on the Internet. Whether you sell your products through a physical store or you have a website where your customers order from, you will find you will be able to increase your earnings when you put them up for bid. The following is some information on how you can make money with online auctions.

Place a Minimum
The mistake that many people make when they first start listing items is they forget to put a minimum set amount they will accept for the product. If you do not place a minimum amount, you may find yourself selling a product worth $20 for only pennies.

Sell Groupings
As a business owner, you understand that the customer wants to feel like they are getting a deal. It is no different with online auctions. If you group some products together, you will find they may receive more bids. For example, if you are selling a children’s book, you could group this with a stuffed animal and snuggly blanket. You may find that you can make money on groupings quicker than if you sell the products separately.

Shipping Price
If you look at some of the online auctions, you will see a couple of different things when it comes to the shipping price-either the price is too high or the price is too low. Many people often refuse to bid on a product that has an outrageous shipping price. Set a fair shipping price and you’ll find the bids come quicker.

Set Buy Now Price
If you have a large inventory and have several of the same product, you can list them at set price. In other words, you can simply list them for sale and people will not have to bid on them. Many people often make money with internet auctions in this manner when they have a large inventory.

These are just a few of the things you can do when it comes to making money by listing your products with an online auction. If you choose this as a method to making money, you will definitely want to learn as much as you can about the online auction you choose.

Tips For a Successful eBay Auction

May 27th 2009 By Web Development India

What am I doing wrong and why aren’t my listings getting any bids or getting sold?  I have been asked this question time and again and it never ceases to amaze me that the smallest little things on eBay can make all the difference.  The first thing that I am going to tell you that I have noticed made a lot of difference to the people that I have spoken to is when you are writing a listing, pretend you are looking at an auction for the same item.  If you can imagine what you would want to see in a good auction then it makes it so much easier to write a successful listing.

There are plenty of little things that I could go through and tell you but I am going to focus on the ones that I see most often.

1. The Picture

The Picture is more often then not, the first thing people look at.  For example, I was recently looking for a used cell phone for my brother on eBay and came across a few listings that I liked for the specific phone that I was looking for.  I opened up most of these listings for the used phones and saw either one or two dark and unclear photos or I saw a ”stock” photo from the manufacturer.  Now when you think about it, If I am buying a used phone, why would I buy one that I cant see?  My brother doesn’t want one that is totally beat up and nasty so I will be honest and say that I passed right over them before even reading the description.  I know when I am looking at a listing that the first thing I go to is the picture.  If you are really getting into selling on eBay and would like to start making some good money, the first thing I would suggest is to invest in a nice digital camera that can take clear, vibrant photos, this will make a big difference for you and your auction success.

2. Payment Options

This one is simple. I see alot of people on ebay using only Paypal.  While there is absolutely nothing wrong with Paypal, I actually prefer it., but as a seller you will attract many more prospective buyers if you offer other payment methods such as check, money order, credit card, ETC.

3. Customer Service

If you plan on staying in the eBay game for awhile you will benefit greatly from great customer service.  I can not stress enough at how much being business-like and professional is a must.  Work this eBay business like any other and treat your customers like you would like to be treated!  Dont be afraid to give a refund here and there.  Return policies are one of the best ways to make someone feel at ease with a transaction.  More people will buy and turn into repeat customers if they feel at ease with you and if they know they can trust you and someone will return something eventually but it is not going to kill you. Selling 5 things and getting one returned is better than selling 1 and not having a return policy.  Feedback is also a thing often overlooked on eBay.  Remember to always give positive feedback!  Having positive feedback is another great way to make your customers feel at ease.

4. Shipping

There is alot to be said about shipping with eBay.  I’ve noticed that not alot of people take advantage of the free shipping option.  I was looking a video game recently for about 5 dollars less than brand new so I know the person had most likely just bought it and was selling it because they didnt like it or needed the cash but either way, its doubtful that they were making a profit.  I got to skimming the listing and noticed the shipping was 8 dollars!  You will see this from time to time and in my mind, I dont know anyone who would fall for that scam and its also a good way to not sell your item!  Now I am not saying that charging for shipping and with certain items even a handling charge is a bad thing, but be fair!  Dont be the person that is out there trying to make a profit off of shipping.  It is better to be honest and fair with shipping, you will get much further in the game if you are.  Offer multiple shipping options and use multiple carriers.  I use fed-ex, UPS and the USPS, this gives your buyers options and believe it or not may help you get that sale.

So there are a few tips that you can use to enhance your auctions on eBay.  There are many other tips for the eBay seller that I will continue to write about in the future.  Try these suggestions if you are not already and I bet you will see an improvement on the number of views, bids and sales.  Good luck out there fellow eBayers!

Bookstore Business - Make a Killing Dropshipping Books

May 26th 2009 By Web Development India

When you become a dropshipping retailer, your business model copies the buying and selling technique where you supply items at a retail rate that you get wholesale from a supplier. This is one of the very profitable businesses on the Internet today, with $400 billion made annually in the United States alone.

Dropshipping retailers can open their own online stores at a very minimal start-up cost, and their wholesale suppliers take care of the inventory, packing and shipping of merchandise to their customers. Many dropshipping retailers are opening their own bookstore business through online stores in the Internet today. With the present economy, people who love books prefer to purchase their reading matter at more inexpensive rates, and they can find these rates in online bookstores.

If you are a savvy entrepreneur, you can open your own bookstore business and ride the wave of the dropshipping popularity that is growing by leaps and bounds year after year. Many thriving dropshipping retailers are currently making a killing with their online businesses, and you can do the same.

Internet Marketing Studies conducted in 2008 have shown that books and magazine sales rose considerably during this period. Based on these same studies, book sales have risen, while sales for tickets to concerts and other live events have gone down. The downslide in the economy has caused many Americans to look for inexpensive options in entertainment, and books and magazines count as a form of entertainment that don’t need to cost an arm and a leg. The resulting growth in this category has sent a lot of entrepreneurs adding booklists to their growing inventory of items in their online store.

As a dropshipping retailer with a bookstore business, you wouldn’t need to rent store space, or clear up a portion of your home to house your merchandise. All you need is a legitimate and reliable wholesale supplier who will provide you with lists of books that you can select from, depending on your target market.

With this list of books in your arsenal, you simply provide good digital images and descriptions of each item in your online store. When a customer places an order, you will be responsible for collecting their payment through any number of payment processors, and sending the order to your wholesale supplier. The supplier will then package the item and ship it to your customer, saving you the hassle and expense of shipping fees.

Taking advantage of this popularity of books and magazines in the market today will have your online bookstore making a huge profit. You will need to do a good deal of research to find a wholesale dropshipper with a good reputation and a wide selection of book titles and magazines. This may take quite a bit of time, as they don’t advertise and aren’t found in the search engines. Once you find a good source however, you’re in business!

Good website design and optimal advertising through banner ads, blog posts, and articles will also steer potential customers your way.

Unheard of 112 Percent eBay Profit With These eBay Product Suppliers

May 25th 2009 By Web Development India

Selling on eBay for profit should be fun and profitable, but few eBay sellers offer products that excite bidders enough to result in consistent profits. eBay bidders go wild when they find exactly the product they are looking for. Take for instance, a recent eBay sale to fans of the rock band Kiss. The eBay seller found a supplier offering a Kiss “Destroyer” Bar Stool for a wholesale price of $28.24 and listed it for sale on eBay. After the flurry of eBay bidding ended the final price of the auction was $59.99. On this one sale alone the seller made 112% or a profit of $31.75. The secret to products like one we just discussed? Drop shipping.

Transforming your eBay selling account into a high performing eBay powerhouse offering over one million products takes only a few steps. Drop shippers act as a middleman, linking the seller up to suppliers offering products that eBay bidders will love. After signing up for a free 7 day trial of a drop shipping service, the seller instantly has access to sell any of the brand name products the drop shipping company has in their catalog. Then it is simply a matter of choosing a product and supplier, listing it on eBay and wait for the auction to end. When the product sells for a profit, simply collect the winner’s payment and enter their shipping information in your drop shipping account. The product will soon be on the customer’s doorstep leaving you free to list your next product for sale on eBay.

Dropship Books - Earn a Killing Today

May 24th 2009 By Web Development India

If you are wondering what dropshipping is all about, it is a different way of selling products without actually having to carry a whole store-full of items or worrying about making a daily inventory. If you are looking for a good way to earn some money online, and you have a head for wholesale, a dropship books business may just be the thing for you.

As soon as this phenomenal way of selling caught on at the auction site, eBay, thousands of other online entrepreneurs followed suit. In fact, dropshipping is becoming more and more widely used in many countries all over the world. In the United States, dropshipping is a huge and popular industry that earns about $400 billion annually. This is particularly true of many dropship books online stores that have sprouted all over the Internet. Dropshipping books can be a very profitable enterprise, and you can make a killing as long as you are able to do it the right way.

This type of business is the kind you can start at home. It isn’t capital-intensive, and is relatively easy to start if you don’t have the budget to build your own company from the ground up. With a dropshipping book business, you can take charge of your own branding and create a unique niche that you can promote with the help of your partners and suppliers.

Your partners and suppliers will charge you for wholesale rates only, normally 50% off a majority of products. When your customers order single items from you, you may then charge them the retail price, and your suppliers will ship the ordered items directly to your customers. This way your suppliers will be able to move their merchandize faster, and you’ll make a good profit off the difference.

The boom business of dropship books selling on the Internet is also advantageous for your customers. They can purchase books at a relatively cheaper rate compared to actual bookstore prices because dropshipping eliminates the need for a middleman. You relay their orders directly to your supplier, and you only get charged the wholesale price for a single item. The beauty of this business is that you needn’t worry about handling the merchandise yourself. Your primary role is to maintain your online store and take down customer orders.

You can advertise books at a lot of websites, either in Amazon Stores, on eBay, or within your own website. eBay auctions are particularly profitable as an online dropship books business. As with any business, whether online or offline, dropshipping books comes with its own risks. However, as long as you do your homework, and take the time to source out the best suppliers who will provide you with good rates, you’ll be able to make a wholesale killing.

There are many resources on the Internet where you can research on the best ways to start a dropshipping business. You’ll be able to find many tips, hints, and leads on good suppliers and prospective partners. You can also join forums where you can learn from like-minded dropshipping entrepreneurs, as well as volunteer your own experiences and input on the business.
